Missing Stevie Pointer


Another mystery to solve involving Stevie Pointer!


Gone missing today was UW Stevens Point's mascot, Stevie Pointer. We had to search high and low in the Library for the missing dog. Was Stevie on the first floor or was he stranded on the top?
As we were frantically looking around, we noticed that the kidnapper had laid out clues for us. Every clue gave us a letter and at the end, we had to unscramble to find the hiding spot that the kidnapper placed Stevie Pointer.

Our first spot to look for clues was on the first floor of the library. As we walked down the stairs, we spotted a giant killer shark hanging from the ceiling. This then lead to our first clue that was telling us to find a bird and the state from which the bird originated from. Luckily right by the clue was an animals museum and inside we found the egg of the bird. That then lead to yet another clue.
For our next clue, we headed to the reference section to find a book of dogs. After finding it, we looked through the pages for information on the English Pointer. Gathering the information on that page, we headed to the reference guide to get another clue and to get us another letter to unscramble the message.
Our next clue brought us to the second floor to find the latest issue of the Pointer. Finding the issue, we recited "Free the Bound Periodicals" to the librarians and got a letter and our next clue. Were they in this together?

We moved on to the third floor next and looked where the CD's were being stored. As that was the last place that Stevie had been seen. Given the information on the clue, we looked for a CD with the call number 1630.18 R 64. While searching, we found the Rolling Stones CD which lead us to yet another clue.
Making our way to the fourth floor we see the word " Archives" in the elevator. Not sure what this meant. We made note and moved on. Making our way to the book shelves we find the books of Charlie Chaplin whom resembled the guy that kidnapped Stevie.
Reading the next clue we were brought to the green shelves serching for the Animal Biochemestry book to find the letters and we were on to the last clue.
Prancing our way to the fifth floor we searched the Su Docs call numbers and got the last letters to our clue.
Unscrambling the letter it was the Archives. After minutes of pondering we remebered they were on the 4th floor. We sprinted all the way down the stairs. Fly open the door and sure enough Stevie was being held captive in a box. We did it! We solved yet another mystery.
